Balrampur: A free HPV vaccination programme for adolescent girls was organised at the Collectorate Auditorium in Balrampur district under the inspiration of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. As part of the camp, 100 girls were administered the HPV vaccine to protect them against serious health risks.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor stressed that vaccinating girls aged 9 to 14 years with two doses of the HPV vaccine can provide nearly 95 percent protection. She urged families to remain aware and ensure timely vaccination of their daughters, emphasizing that a healthy and educated child is the foundation of a developed India.
The programme is being implemented under an MoU signed on February 4, 2026, between Raj Bhavan, Uttar Pradesh, and Serum Institute of India, Pune. Under this initiative, around 1.5 lakh girls in eight aspirational districts will receive three lakh free vaccine doses.

During the event, the Governor also distributed nutrition kits to girls and nutritional support to TB patients. Senior administrative and health officials were present on the occasion.
